With a history and heritage of 150 years, Kayyalas Courtyard proudly heads as one of the ancient nalukettu villas of Kerala. The property’s boundaries extend to paddy fields that clutches tales of harvest and harmony. The nalukettu walls of the property sheltered the crop harvests in a storage space called Kayyala’. The harvests were stored exclusively in a Pathayam, placed inside kayyala. Restoring the traces of heritage and culture encouraged us to name this property as ‘Kayyalas’ for the generations to remember the roots of traditional living.
Kayyalas is a manifestation of a young man’s dream and the purpose of this venture is to bring out happiness of mind. The incorporation of our love for greenery to the project allowed us to build a miniature landscape that attributed to bring the best outcome of peace and serenity. The walls and pillars of Kayyalas courtyard echoes the tales of 100+ years, this tradition is reflected in the vintage decor and antique furnishing. The appropriate positioning of a central courtyard compliments to the uniqueness of the building, emphasizing the days of yore.
