With a history and heritage of 150 years, Kayyalas Courtyard proudly heads as one of the ancient nalukettu villas of Kerala. The property’s boundaries extend to paddy fields that clutches tales of harvest and harmony. The nalukettu walls of the property sheltered the crop harvests in a storage space called Kayyala’. The harvests were stored exclusively in a Pathayam, placed inside kayyala. Restoring the traces of heritage and culture encouraged us to name this property as ‘Kayyalas for the generations to remember the roots of traditional living.

Hands down one of the best homestays I have ever stayed in. I checked out of my actual homestay in 2 hours once I saw this property and moved in here with my family. Stayed there for a week and had absolutely no issues. I was surprised how clean the house was and how modern and aesthetically pleasing the interiors were. It's a family run property and they'll take care of you like you're one of their own. Don't hesitate even for a bit while booking. Going back very soon!
Very homely and lovely experience. Not too far from Thrissur and close to beaches. Location is very perfect. The gardening and furnishings are well maintained. They also allow pets to stay with which was very helpful. Price was very reasonable for the stay. Overall, it was an amazing time and would love to visit again.
This house has a very authentic traditional feel to it and was a great nostalgic experience. A lovely place not just to stay but also to gather family and friends for a meet. The owner living next door is really helpful. I'll definitely look to come back to this place.
